Launch of Brisbane’s most affordable housing for retirees

The demand for affordable retirement living options has skyrocketed, with many Aussies struggling to find homes with the right price tag in the right location.

In response to growing demand for alternative, affordable seniors’ accommodation in the Brisbane area, Ingenia Lifestyle have announced the release of a $199,000 home design in Chambers Pines.

At an unbeatable price, the Fitzroy design combines modern, architectural design with a land lease ownership model – making the dream of resort-style living a reality for retirees.

Ingenia Lifestyle Queensland Development Manager Matt Fedrick said Ingenia received a lot of enquiries for homes around the $200,000 price point, so made the decision to respond to that demand.

“Ingenia worked with builders and prospective residents to design a home that provides practical design and quality fittings at an affordable price,” Mr Fedrick said.

“Downsizers could easily be set back $500,000 for a comparable home in the area, so to have access to homes that start from $199,000 is a game changer.”

The Fitzroy display home is one of six new designs available to view at Ingenia Lifestyle Chambers Pines display village, with prices ranging from $199,000 to $299,500 for a brand new home.

Under the Ingenia Lifestyle land lease model, residents own their property and lease the land the house is built on, helping retirees save thousands by avoiding rates, stamp duty, exit fees and deferred management fees.

With more affordable options in the mix, land lease communities are increasingly becoming a popular living alternative. Chambers Pines residents not only own their own home, they have access to two resort-style clubhouses complete with two swimming pools, a bowls green, gymnasium and library.

Chambers Pines by Ingenia Lifestyle was recently named Australia’s best affordable housing development at the 2020 Property Council of Australia/Rider Levett Bucknall Innovation & Excellence Awards.
