National Seniors, Forest Lake Branch update

by Julie Baldwin

Hello and welcome to the October Edition. I can’t quite believe I’m writing this as the months have passed by so fast. It will soon be time for families to start their Christmas plans, shopping etc.

In September, we were so happy to be able to meet up again for the first time since March. We held our Branch Meeting which was followed by the AGM. New office bearers were elected for those rotating off the Management Committee. I have had the pleasure of being Secretary for the past eight of our nine years and was given lovely gifts in appreciation. I will continue on as a volunteer, of course, and welcome the new committee and wish them well for the years ahead.

We were able to celebrate our 9th birthday at the September meeting and, of course, there was cake. Double figures next year.

Plans are already well underway for trips, lunches and other functions leading up to our final event Christmas Lunch. It’s a busy time for the new committee.

As members, we are very grateful for the incredible advocacy work of Head Office of National Seniors Australia.
