The destination for the November day trip of the Forest Lake Fifty Plus Club was to The Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium at The Brisbane Botanic Gardens, Mt Coot-tha. Our first stop was to Rocks Riverside Park for our wonderful morning tea that was provided by some of our members. With everyone fed and watered it was time to make our way to The Planetarium for our Cosmic Skydome Presentation and discover the secrets of the universe. It was a very interesting show which was enjoyed by everyone.
With everyone back on the bus, we made our way to The Durack Tavern for our delicious two course meal washed down with a couple of quiet drinks served by their friendly staff. It was then time to make our way back to Forest Lake with a lot of chatter on the bus. It was another wonderful day out.
The Clubs ‘Extra Activity’ was lunch at The Centenary Tavern at Sumner, with Covid-19 restrictions. As usual, the Centenary Tavern had a wonderful variety of meals to choose from. Everyone who attended enjoyed their lunch, all-resulting in another wonderful gathering of Club members.
The Forest Lake Fifty Plus Club would like to acknowledge the Heritage Bank Community Branch, Forest Lake for its generous grant to our Club. We have been able to purchase picnic tables and trolleys as well as our pocket diaries. Thank you very much.
