The month of June gives the Rotary Club of Forest Lake another opportunity to participate in the annual Forest Lake Dragon Boat festival along with other community organizations. This is a great event and always draws a large crowd from our and surrounding communities. This year’s event will be held on Sunday June 4.
During the month of June our club will join with the Rotary Club of Goodna for a combined meeting on Monday evening June 12th. This gives both clubs the opportunity to assist each other with various community projects.
The month of June is the month that Rotary celebrates the various and numerous associated Rotary Fellowships. Several Forest Lake members belong to some of these fellowships which provide great opportunities to participate in a range of social activities resulting in great friendships and exchange of ideas.
2023 is the year that we in Rotary celebrate 100 years of service to the Queensland and
international communities with the first Rotary club in Queensland being chartered in 1923. There are a number of special events taking place this year to celebrate this achievement across Queensland. These include a reception at Queensland’s Parliament house on May 22, a High Tea on May 23 also at Parliament house, and a gala dinner at the Rotary Club of Brisbane, Queensland’s first Rotary Club on May 24.
The Rotary Club of Forest Lake is always happy to welcome new members to join us. We are a small but dynamic club involved in many community events. We enjoy great comradeship and our involvement with our community.
Our Membership Director Alan Grieg would welcome the opportunity of discussing our Club and the possibility of membership in a friendly and relaxed manner with anyone interested. He can be contacted on 0407 377715 or via email rotaryforestlake@gmail.com or through our website www.rotaryforestlake.com.
