Local businesses in Forest Lake and surrounding suburbs received recognition for their service to the local community at the Inala Electorate Small Business Awards ceremony held on September 16.
Inala electorate locals cast 5,454 votes for the finalists of 10 categories, including “Best Hospitality”, “Best Community Support”, and “Best Woman in Business”.
One highlight of the evening was the 8848 Momo House in Forest Lake receiving the small business of the year award.
Momo House front of house staff member Deborah described winning the Small Business of the Year Award as a tremendous honour for the Nepalese restaurant.
“It validates our dedication to serving authentic, delicious momos and providing exceptional customer experiences,” she said.
“We’re grateful for this milestone, which motivates us to keep pushing boundaries and delighting our customers.”
Harshi and Vijay from IGA Local Grocer Forest Lake said their store was honoured to have won the 2024 Best Retail & Sales award at the Inala Electorate Small Business Awards.
“We are grateful that our local shoppers and community have given us so much support, and our dedicated store team at IGA Local Grocer Forest Lake are so appreciative.”

The event, held at the Oxley Golf Club, was sponsored by BNI, Inala Community House, Inala Plaza, and the Oxley Golf Club.
