A 26-year-old man from Bellbird Park has been charged with grievous bodily harm following a serious assault that occurred in Durack early yesterday morning.
According to Acacia Ridge Detectives, the incident took place around 1:30 a.m. on July 13, when a 44-year-old man from Inala was allegedly attacked by another man outside a licensed venue on King Avenue.
The victim, who did not know his attacker, was reportedly struck and subsequently collapsed to the ground.
He remains in critical condition at Princess Alexandra Hospital.
Following thorough investigations, police arrested and charged the 26-year-old suspect yesterday afternoon.
He has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Richlands Magistrates Court today.
Detectives are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who possesses footage from the area, including dashcam or CCTV recordings, to come forward and assist with the ongoing investigation.
