The Club’s End of Year Weekend-away and Annual presentations were held at the Mercure Palm Meadows Resort on the Gold Coast on Saturday evening of 28 November, and what a great night it was for all who attended.
Saturday’s game was an Individual Stableford event held at Lakelands and on Sunday we had a Four Ball Ambrose event, again at Lakelands. The course was fantastic, golf challenging and weather perfect for a wonderful weekend of golf for our members.
Thank you to Brian Cruickshank and his partner Sharon for a great job in pulling everything together to allow the trip to go ahead. And thank you to the Mercure for putting on a marvellous dinner and looking after everyone in style.
And so the End of Year Awards were announced and the winners were…(drum roll): 2020 Club Champion – Paul Weymouth and Runner-up – Daniel Jones; 2020 Most Improved Awards: A Grade Winner – Andrew Carter and Runner-up – Daniel Jones; B Grade Winner – Paul Weymouth and Runner-up – Gavin Robinson; C Grade Winner – Liam Dvornicich and Runner-up – Peter Cuttance.
This year the club introduced a new award category based on a points scoring system held across the whole season. And so the inaugural winner of the ‘Club Member of the Year 2020’ award went to Daniel Jones, with a close second going to Gavin Robinson.
Congratulations to all of the award winners for 2020, and especially to all of our members who turn up and play their best at each and every game.
