Forest Lake-based Sargam Music Academy recently celebrated their 10 year anniversary, marking the milestone with a musical concert Timeless Melodies of R D Burman at SunPAC on Saturday, August 10.
The annual event drew a vibrant crowd of parents and community leaders eager to witness the incredible talents from Forest Lake and surrounding areas.
“Our concert featured exceptional performances from Eswar, Manpreet, Wilson, Amit, Antu, and young talent Simreet, captivating the audience with their artistry,” academy co-founder Bondita Chakraborty said.
“We are overwhelmed with gratitude for the incredible support we received for our musical night.
“To our wonderful audience — your presence and enthusiasm were the ultimate highlight for us and our students.”
Founded by Bondita and Mithun, Sargam Music Academy started as a small school in Forest Lake in 2014, and has since grown into two thriving branches in Forest Lake and West End.
The academy is more than just a place for children of all ages and cultures to learn various languages, instruments, and vocal techniques; it’s a community hub where Indian culture and heritage is celebrated and passed down through music.
The academy offers regular vocal training, mentoring, and diverse musical activities, and engages with the community through concerts, workshops, and social gatherings, as well as fundraising for charitable causes.
“A special highlight of the evening was a beautifully handcrafted cake made by volunteer Rekha to celebrate our 10th Anniversary,” Bondita said.
“The children delighted in gathering around to cut this special cake, adding a sweet note to an unforgettable night.”
Bondita expressed her heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended.
“This event was made possible thanks to the generous support of our sponsors,” she said.
“We look forward to seeing you all again at the Forest Lake Christmas Carols this year.
