We were blessed with some good weather for our Oxley game on the 20th September. The previous rain made the fairways soft but somehow the greens were horrible to play on.
Our last regular game for 2020 was held at Wolston Park Golf Club, with an excellent attendance of 28 players, teeing off from both the 1st and 10th tees. With conditions perfect for golf, we were in for a great day. And so it was (for some) with really good scores returned, despite the tough greens and pin placements.
Congratulations to the following prizewinners on the day: A Grade Winner – Andrew Carter, 40 pts; Runner-up – John Stephan 39 pts. B Grade Winner – Graeme Frew 43 pts; Runner-up – Chris Peacock 42 pts. Bradman Award went to Brett Williams with an economical 25 pts. Long Drive 7th, A grade – Gavin Robinson; Long Drive 7th, B Grade – Gareth Collins; Long Drive 7th, C Grade – Colin Edwards; Approach 9th hole – Dan McKay; Approach 11th hole – Dani Dvornicich; NTP 8th hole – Brian Cruickshank; NTP 10th hole – Dan McKay; NTP 13th hole – Pat Ayling.
The Eagles Nest on the 2nd hole proved too challenging and was not won on the day. The prize now jackpots to our next game in the new year.
The clubs annual away weekend was on the 28th and 29th November, this year at Lakelands Golf Cub on the Gold Coast, staying at the nearby Mercure Resort to round off 2020 in style.
Our first game in 2021 will be at Wolston Park on 15th January followed by the clubs Annual General Meeting to elect your 2021 management committee.
