The Heritage Bank Forest Lake Christmas Carols held on December 3, 2022, proved to be a great evening enjoyed by the community.
The event was held at Forest Lake State School and started out with market stalls, rides, activities and food trucks in the afternoon, which were a hit for children, families and guests of all ages.

The sound of Christmas rang loud and clear during the entertainment segment, which ran from 5:50 until 8:30. Locals brought picnic blankets and camping chairs and were treated to a night of carols on the green.
The story of Jesus’ birth was shared through story and song during the first segment of the night.
Forest Lake school students did a fantastic job leading several items throughout the night, including four items by Grand Avenue State School, three items by Forest Lake State School and two items by Pallara State School.

Local singers and musicians, including Neve Wintersgill, Igor Sholz, Amy Winner, Kerryn Thorne, Tammy Mathieson, Lauren Fry, Tristan Higgins, Amy-Leigh Fry beautifully performed their solo and individual pieces.
The Allstars Performing Arts eisteddfod team students performed an entertaining jazz dance to “Santa Can’t You Hear Me.”
Richlands-Forest Lake Scout Group leader Tania McLaughlin said the event organisers did an amazing job, and the community greatly appreciated Heritage Bank’s sponsorship of the event and rides.
“It was a great night – even with the little sprinkle of rain – and the atmosphere was so calm and peaceful. The entertainers were of high standard, and I especially loved Tammy Mathieson,” she said.

Santa Claus ditched his reindeer and sleigh for the night, and in true Brisbane fashion opted to drop in via electric scooter instead.
Allstars Performing Arts owner and Carols committee member Katrina Spencer said it was great to be back celebrating Christmas with the community after two years on break due to Covid.
“It’s a special time too, to celebrate the birth of Jesus,” Katrina said.
The night drew to a close with four upbeat group items performed by all soloists and performers, including We Wish You a Merry Christmas and Feliz Navidad.
