For the dedicated readers of The Lake News, you will be amongst the first to hear about the Inala Electorate’s Small Business Awards in 2023. I understand the value that small businesses add to our community, and I want your help to recognise their invaluable contributions by nominating them for an award. I encourage you to participate in the first stage of the award process by submitting your nomination before Friday, 24 March – you can do this using the QR code or by contacting my office.
I also invite you to spread the word and get your friends, family and neighbours involved. It is vital that we show our support for our local small businesses as we continue to build back stronger following years of challenges.
You can stay up to date on how you can best serve your favourite local small business by reading the next edition of the Lake News, or follow me on social media.
After nominations have closed, I’ll be asking you to vote for the small businesses that will win in this year’s awards. And it’s not just our small businesses that are in with a chance to win; everyone that nominates or votes for a small business will enter a lucky draw.
I am also pleased to announce that residents will have the opportunity to submit ideas to shape plans for upgrades to the Centenary Motorway. This project will look at upgrading this important route from Darra to Toowong, and we are keen to hear your thoughts on how we can make your journey home faster and safer.
This is in addition to our joint funding commitment of $298.5 million to upgrade the Centenary Bridge, with construction set to get underway shortly. You are invited to attend an information and consultation session at HomeCo Richlands on Thursday, 2 March from 4:00pm – 7:00pm. For more information on this project and how you can have your say, please feel welcome to contact my office.
If you have questions or need assistance regarding any State Government matter, please contact me at the Inala Electorate Office on 3737 2100.
