The annual Forest Lake Community Festival is set to return on Saturday October 12, and it promises to be better than ever.
The fourth iteration of the free event will once again take place at the Forest Lake Parklands, around the esplanade, amphitheatre and playground, running from 2 pm – 8 pm.
The event will offer performances by local schools and community groups, a three-hour live set from the Jimmy Sogalrey Band, and fireworks and a laser show to cap off the night.
Event founder and organiser Kylie Gates has been a Forest Lake resident for the past 15 years and plays a pivotal role in various community events, including the upcoming festival in October.
“The Community Festival is a free event that caters for everyone; from young to old there’s something for all,” Kylie said.
The event will showcase over 70 local small businesses, food trucks, and community group performances throughout the afternoon on the stage and the amphitheatre.
“The event will feature roving entertainers including fire twirlers, interactive circus play activities, and rides for the young ones with a huge slide along The Esplanade,” Kylie said.
“Our event is very lucky to have the support of some amazing sponsors including our main supporter, Heritage Community Branch Forest Lake, alongside I look Property, The Lion Richlands, Nuture Law, Cr Strunk and Penfold Property Group to name a few.
“Our supporters allow the community to enjoy free entry on the rides, as well as free face-painting, petting zoo entry, reptile displays and other activities at no cost.”
The rest of the sponsors comprise the Dagwood Dog Guy, Team Transport & Logistics, Aaction Traffic Control, Lakeside Allied Health and Aussie Forest Lake.
“Pack a picnic rug and hamper, and the day is absolutely free!”
