Forest Lake Lions Club – Leos

St John’s Anglican College Leo’s and school teacher Mrs Gimeno, with Leo advisor Lion April, visited Inala Salvation Army delivering sweet treats on Sunday May 26.

This event recognised the importance of caring for others and supporting those less fortunate.

On behalf of St John’s Anglican College Leo’s, we would like to thank Forest Lake Centre Management for their kindness with the donation of the sweet treats, which brought many smiles to all the children last Sunday.

Melaine, Tyreece, Hewson, Mackiah and Johleiak who live in Inala were pleased to receive a free breakfast and the sweets.

May was the month of hunger and the gift of giving to support these children is so important as kindness matters.

Leo’s stands for Leadership, Experience and Opportunity. The school-based students follow the ethics and tasks working with the Lions Club of Forest Lake.

The Leo’s are a group of students from St John’s Anglican College who complete community tasks in our local area.

This includes picking up garbage, helping our wonderful suburb in Forest Lake to be cleaner and assisting the environment, and Children of Courage recognising special needs children ages 5-15 years old.

If you are interested in giving an hour or two a month, please contact our membership officer Lion Stuart on 0418 735 190 or Leo’s Lion April on 0402 287 066.

The Forest Lake Lions Club were delighted to welcome new member Michael to the Club.  Past District Governor Heather and a member of the Club  performed the ceremony.

We are continuing with the sausage sizzles at Crossacres Garden Centre, so pop down on Saturday or Sunday to enjoy a sausage and a chat.

We are currently working on two special projects, bags and emergency supplies to domestic violence victims, and a school project. There will be more details in next month’s issue.
