Ho, ho, ho! The festive spirit was in full swing at this year’s Photography Club Christmas lunch, and what a splendid affair it turned out to be! The Forest Lake Tavern played the perfect host, offering a cozy setting, delicious meals, and lots of laughter. Members arrived with big smiles, dressed in their cheerful holiday best, ready to celebrate not just the season, but a wonderful year of photography adventures. There was plenty of mingling, merry chatter, and that warm sense of community that makes our club so special.

While everyone enjoyed catching up and indulging in the festive feast, we also took a moment to reflect on the club’s new initiative: the Nicole Turner Prize. Named after one of our founding members who sadly passed away recently, this monthly competition invites members to submit their work based on a given topic. At the end of each month, our club president selects a winner who receives an A4 print of their photo—an extra-special keepsake. We’re looking forward to seeing some of the prize-winning images for 2024 proudly displayed next to this article. It’s a heartfelt tribute to Nicole and a wonderful way to keep her creative spirit alive in the club.

As always, visitors are more than welcome to join in the fun. If you’ve never been to a meeting before, why not come along and see what the fuss is about? The Photography Club meets on the second Tuesday of every month (except January) at 7:15 pm at the Forest Lake Community Hall. Whether you’re a seasoned photographer or just curious, we’d love to say hello, show you around, and help you discover the joy of capturing life’s special moments through your lens. The laughter, learning, and camaraderie await—don’t be a stranger!
