Pet lovers and their fur babies from all over town flocked to The Forest Lake Markets Paws Edition at the Forest Lake Sports Field to enjoy a pawfect night out on Friday March 17.
Milo and his family were congratulated as the winners of the online Pet Photo Competition, winning him over $100 worth of dog products in a hamper from Bow Tie Pets.
The event was the fifth of the twilight markets held at Forest Lake since they began on October 14 last year.
The biggest highlights from the night included pet competitions, free pet “pawtography” with Canine’s Tale, doggie desserts from Hugo’s Ice Creamery, and puppy cuddles with Noir Blanc Shepherds.
Their human counterparts also enjoyed food trucks, market stalls, live music, face painting by Leanne’s Fancy Faces and rugby activities hosted by The WASPs: Forest Lake Junior Rugby Union Club.
“We had a really great turnout, despite the event being pushed back a week due to rain,” Forest Lake Markets coordinator Veronica Stickley said.
“Some very well-dressed dogs battled it out in our Best Dressed competition, with prizes donated by Centenary Vet Hospital and Clinics.”
Noir Blanc Shepherds owner Kyah Kresina brought a litter of puppies to the event to provide free cuddles for marketgoers, which doubled up as a socialisation opportunity for the pups.
“We loved the atmosphere of the markets,” she said.
“We were so impressed with how well behaved and socialised all the dogs were, and how gentle everyone was with puppy cuddles.
“We would like to thank the Market organisers Veronica and Matt for allowing us to spread Breed Awareness of the Belgian Shepherd, and all the stall holders for collectively contributing to a great night.”
The next Forest Lake Markets event will run on April 14 2023 on the Forest Lake Sports Field at 60 College Avenue, Forest Lake.
