Abba Girls tribute show comes to Inala

An Abba Girls tribute starring Queensland performers Susie McCann and Bronte Mitchell will feature at the Blue Fin Fishing Club in Inala on Saturday September 17.

The special event is the first show of its kind and will run for one night only. It includes a two-course dinner as well as the performance.

After putting the show together, Susie and Bronte had their debut in April, and have been honing their act ever since with successful shows in Bribie Island and Tewantin Waters.

When talking to Susie McCann, one of the two stars, her enthusiasm for the music of ABBA is the first thing that shines through.

“There are a lot of ABBA tributes around, but I wanted to make this one a bit different,” she said.

“When we think of ABBA, we think of  the girls because they are the stars of the show.”

That is what inspired McCann to put together this unique act, grown from the combined talents of herself and Bronte Mitchell, two Queensland songstresses.

Both stars have studied bachelors of musical theatre and have performed across the world on Caribbean cruise lines.

These big dreams are what skyrocketed them from humble beginnings in Queensland to the worldwide stage.

Bronte grew up in Ipswich and graduated from West Moreton Anglican College in 2015 before going on to study a bachelor of musical theatre at Queensland Conservatorium. Susie is from the Gold Coast, and has spent many years performing in cities across Australia.

The audience can expect an authentic experience, with costumes from the ABBA museum in Stockholm, Sweden, where the band itself originates from. The backing music that is used is genuine and has been remastered, and combined with high quality sound and lighting to bring to life the Abba hits that everyone knows and loves.

McCann says she is hoping that fresh new acts like this will inspire venues and audiences alike to get back to live entertainment following the hesitation and uncertainty caused by the Covid pandemic.
