Business Network International (BNI) has opened a new chapter in Forest Lake, meeting every Wednesday evening from 4 pm – 5:30 pm at the Forest Lake Tavern.

The local chapter will allow businesses in Forest Lake and surrounds to enjoy the many benefits of joining BNI, which has provided fantastic results for businesses internationally across 39 years of operation.

BNI Brisbane South West & Toowoomba franchise owner Leisa Gill said the vision of BNI was to change the way the world does business.

“We bring business people together to build relationships and find referrals for each other through a structured 90-minute program,” Leisa said.

Weekly meetings consist of a 20-point agenda, including open networking, recognition, feature presentations by members, referral exchanges, and more.

Leisa said each BNI group was made up of people with all levels of business experience who can benefit and learn from one another.

“If you’re new in business and you don’t know how to grow your business, you’ve got other people in there from all different levels of business,” she said.

“Ongoing learning is another benefit. The biggest difference between BNI and other networking organisations is that we train you on how to do every part of our network.

“We teach you how to network – how to ask for referrals – how to promote business – how to catch up with each other, and have effective coffee meetings.”

Leisa has been a member of BNI for 19 years. She grew two businesses through BNI before purchasing the BNI South West & Toowoomba franchise six years ago.

She currently manages 14 BNI chapters, with three local chapters thriving in Camira, Springfield and Ipswich.
