The Springwood community recently came together to celebrate NAIDOC Week and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture at the annual NAIDOC for Jajumms event.

This free event, organised by OurNangara and Springwood Road State School, drew over 1,500 community members from the Logan area, marking it as a significant celebration of Indigenous culture and heritage.
Several Logan West organisations, including Mojo Montessori Early Child Centre, Piptree Early Learning, Flagstone Edge Early Learning, Boronia Heights Our Patch, and Happy Hearts Park Ridge, played pivotal roles in making the event a success.

The event featured various activities and stalls, allowing attendees to engage with and learn about Indigenous culture.
“We love seeing you and your joyous Jajumms each year, celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures with us,” said an OurNangara spokesperson.
A special thank you was extended to the Elders in the community who attended the event, providing invaluable cultural insights and wisdom.
The day featured performances from Harris Fields State School Booran Dancers & Choir and Bowie Solutions, adding to the festive atmosphere.
