New Equipment and Sporting Infrastructure being delivered across the Ward
Nothing makes me happier than to let everyone know about new equipment being built for our local families in our parks and sporting fields.
The Lake Parklands Precinct has a new outdoor meeting space, a new table tennis area complete with freshly painted pergola, and new picnic table and seating, and new seats for parents and carers at the playground off Alexandrina Circuit.
The top Forest Lake Sports field closest to the Lake will see a new boundary fence around it to help the local cricket club keep balls out of the creek and contain balls during other sporting activities. I have also been advised that the fenced off old wooden terracing around the Forest Lake sports fields will soon be replaced with concrete sleepers, making this area much safer for everyone to use during sporting matches and activities on the ovals.
Central Street Park in Forest Lake has seen a fantastic new climbing frame installed for the older kids to explore and practice their climbing skills, and Wallaroo Way Community Park in Doolandella has a set of new swings.
I have been consulting with families, parents, and community members regularly and these are just some of the great projects that I have been able to deliver at the request of locals.
There are plans in the new financial year for a new nature and water play area to be built in the Lake Parklands Precinct, a new playground for Grove Street Doolandella and new pickle ball court upgrade for the Cascades Park Tennis court.
Road Safety Upgrade for Doolandella
The much-awaited intersection lights for Blunder Road and Wallaroo Way, Doolandella will be installed during the month of March. I have been working hard with residents and bus drivers to ensure the council knows how important it is for the safety of all motorists that this intersection has lights. This is a fabulous win and I know that everyone in this community can’t wait for the day they are operational.
I want to hear from you
If there’s anything I can do, or my staff (Pam or Jenny) on these or any other council matters, please contact my office at Forestlake.ward@bcc.qld.gov.au or on 34071211. I look forward to seeing you when I’m out and about in our wonderful community.
