Happy New Year.  Here’s hoping 2024 brings us all good things.

There is not a lot happening this time of the year, so you can catch up on those books you have been meaning to read, TV shows that you didn’t get a chance to watch or clean out some cupboards – these are good activities for the days when it is hot and humid outside and you are lucky enough to have air conditioning.  Sadly, gardening has to be carried out very early in the morning or late in the afternoon due to the heat, and basically it is just maintenance and keeping things alive.  It is not worth planting anything new as the plants struggle to establish under the beating hot sun. We have had a lot of rain which has been marvellous and will keep everything going for a while.

Our committee is currently sorting out some interesting speakers for our monthly meetings. We are also planning our bus trips, which are always a really good day out.

We are looking forward to catching up with our members next month. If you have an interest in gardening and have been thinking about joining us, we would love to see you.

Happy gardening.

Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month with morning tea served at 9.30 am for a 10.00 am start.  The venue is the National Servicemen’s Association Hall at 907 Boundary Road, Wacol (entrance off Metroplex Place and Nashos Place).  We welcome visitors who may be interested in joining our very friendly club.
