Forest Lake & District RSL Sub-Branch Update

Queensland Day Awards 2022

Kevin Dinsdale is a long-standing resident of the district, some forty-five years or more, and has been associated with the Forest Lake & Districts RSL Sub-branch for the past sixteen years where his responsibilities lie within Membership and Property, amongst other tasks he seems to pick up along the way.

Kev took over the membership responsibility in 2012 when club membership stood at thirty-five, and  tasked himself to increase the numbers.

His personal goal was to reach 100 members. Club membership now stands at 107 full members and thirty-eight social members.  The basis of any club is its membership, the workforce that achieves ultimate goals.

As well as seeking grants for the advancement of services to aid returned servicemen, the club members also engage in fundraising activities.

A major source of such revenue is the selling of badges in the lead-up to Anzac Day and Remembrance Day through stalls at Inala, Richlands, and Forest Lake.

Much of the background organisation and management of sellers’ rosters and stock provision has been undertaken by Kevin during the past ten years with successful results.

On June 4, Kevin was presented with a Certificate and a Medallion by Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk MP in recognition of his outstanding work within the South West Progress Association.

Kevin is a true stalwart supported by his wife Angelika.

A very deserving recipient.
