Forest Lake Fifty Plus Club Update

Guy Hazlewood    April 1, 2024    2 min read

Our Fifty Plus club’s March outing was a visit to the Port of Brisbane.

Our Concorde Coach left Forest Lake for the first stop at Colmslie Beach Reserve for morning tea provided by some of our wonderful members.

The morning tea stop was located right next to the river with a little sandy beach lined with beautiful large trees providing cool shade and interesting walks.

We would have loved to have stayed longer however we had to move along to meet our guide for the Port of Brisbane tour.

Everyone agreed that this was a very informative tour of the Port with some wonderful commentary from our guide.

After dropping our guide back at the Port office, we headed over to the Redlands Sporting Club for a great lunch, and relaxation.

The general consensus from everyone was that they all had a great day.

The Club’s extra activity this month was a BBQ lunch at the Lake in Forest Lake.

We were able to set up in a large Rotunda that provided everyone with a lovely outlook over to the Lake, which is now looking marvellous.

Thank you to everyone who helped with the set up and cooking on the day, and thanks to the member who made the suggestion to have the BBQ there.

The Forest Lake Fifty Plus Club wishes to acknowledge its ongoing support from the Heritage Community Branch, Forest Lake.

The Forest Lake Fifty Plus Club meets on the third Friday of the month at The Old Inala Hall, Corner Rosemary Street and Abelia Street, Inala at 10.30am.

The Club’s next meeting will be on Friday April 19.
