We have kicked off the year with planning a fantastic term 1 program. We are super keen to share our experiences with you.
We began the term exploring our personal values and what we love about Guiding. This is part of a national strategy to ensure Girl Guides are meeting the needs and expectations of today’s girls. It’s fabulous to be part of an organisation which values and listens to its members – from the youngest 5 year old to the more senior girls and women.
We are also learning about Guiding in Poland as part of our World Thinking Day experience. World Thinking Day is celebrated on 22nd February every year all around the World. It signifies the birthdays of both Lord and Lady Baden-Powell who founded Scouts and Guides. It has become a long standing tradition in our calendars.
Of course we have played a lot of outdoor games and are skilling ourselves up for some fabulous camps this year. Next month we will participate in clean up Australia Day and have a sleepover where we will be trying out our archery skills.
There is so much to do as a member of Girl Guides and the possibilities are almost endless.
We meet Friday nights from 6:30pm and we would love for you to come along and give Guides a go.
We welcome girls from the age of 5 onwards. Send an email to forest.lake.girl.guides@gmail.com or text Lisa on 0412 767 708.
