The Forest Lake Magpies have several teams for the 2024 season with a handful of junior teams and an Open Men’s team.

To kick start their season, the Under 8’s team received a special invitation from Play NRL South East QLD.

Coached by Carl and managed by Ben, the team was selected to play a Mini League game at Suncorp Stadium.

The match took place just before the QLD Local Derby clash between the Brisbane Broncos and the North Queensland Cowboys on March 29.

“The team was comprised of 12 talented players, and they all enjoyed their run on the field,” Carl said.

“A standout moment for me was one of our players Micah having the privilege of being interviewed pre-game by Lincoln Lewis.”

Micah shared his adoration for his favourite team, the Brisbane Broncos, his admiration for outside back Selwyn Cobbo, and even showcased the Broncos’ signature try celebration dance.

Following their game day match experience, the team had the chance to relax and soak in the atmosphere as they watched the NRL action unfold from the sidelines.

Forest Lake Magpies Junior Rugby League teams will dive into competitive play with 14 rounds beginning on April 21.
