We are now in a new financial year at the shed and membership is up for renewal. We currently have 62 members – each year we lose 6 to 8 around this time of year for one reason or another. Mostly they move away so can’t attend anymore, but each year as it proceeds, we gain members, and we continue on. Our members come from all walks of life and we make all welcome.

Recently we have been making possum boxes, flag boxes for the RSL, street libraries for our local community, and still restoring Garden Benches.

We have now restored 85 garden benches and kept them from going to landfill. The latest one we are restoring and donating to Youngcare as it was requested, and of course we said yes.

And don’t forget we recycle cans and bottles to raise funds, so if you would like to donate them to us they can be left at the shed 24/7. We also take the ring pulls from cans which raise funds towards wheelchairs.

If you’re a male sitting at home wondering what to do with your time, come see us at the shed. You might like what you see and want to join us. We are a friendly lot, members do art on a Monday and Thursday, cards (500) on Tuesdays and Fridays, and we do woodwork in the big shed from Monday to Friday.

You can come one day a week or all five, and you can do your own projects or get involved with our projects.

We are located at 25 High St Forest Lake in the carpark of the Arethusa College from Monday to Friday 8am to 12 noon. For more information contact Steve on 0421 520 804.

Two benches we made for the community garden at the P.A Hospital.
