Let’s give a warm round of applause to Debasish Sarma, the winner of the Heritage Bank Slideshow Award for April! Debasish’s stunning dreamy landscape photo has captured the hearts of our club members and earned him this prestigious recognition. Well done, Debasish!

Debasish, a proud Forest Lake resident for the past four years, has embraced the community and its picturesque surroundings. As an amateur hobbyist photographer, his primary interests lie in landscape and nightscape photography. With six years of experience under his belt, Debasish seizes every opportunity to venture out and capture the world through his lens.

His award-winning photograph was taken in the scenic vineyards of Pokolbin, NSW, in the heart of the Hunter Valley. On an early morning outing, Debasish discovered a rural pathway bathed in the golden hour’s light. The morning fog, coupled with the leading lines of the path, created a mysterious and atmospheric scene that he skillfully captured in his photo.

As the winner, Debasish will receive an A3+ print of his enchanting image, produced on the club’s high-quality printer, generously funded by the Forest Lake Heritage Bank. This is a cherished reward for his talent and dedication, ready to be proudly displayed.

The Forest Lake Photography Club is a thriving community where members submit their photos for a monthly slideshow, followed by a vote for their top three favourites. This democratic and engaging process ensures that the most captivating images receive the recognition they deserve.

At our May meeting, we were treated to an enlightening talk on stop motion photography by our talented member, Rod Noendeng. A big thank you to Rod for sharing his expertise and insights—it was an informative session that left everyone inspired.

Our club meets on the second Tuesday of every month, except January, at 7:15 pm at the Forest Lake Community Hall. Visitors are always warmly welcomed, whether you’re a seasoned photographer or just starting out. We encourage you to join us, share your passion, and learn from our vibrant community.

Whether you’re looking to improve your skills, find inspiration, or simply enjoy the art of photography, the Forest Lake Photography Club is the place to be. Come join us and be part of our photographic journey!
