In February a small group of us ventured south to the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. Surprisingly, for some of us, it was our first visit, and for others it had been a long time since the last visit. The weather was kind to us and the heavens opened up after our departure. Those who had previously attended noted the many changes, and all enjoyed the outing. Lunch at the Currumbin RSL finished off the day prior to our return to Forest Lake.
March is the month when all Probus Clubs hold their Annual General Meetings. Like all other organisations, finding replacement office bearers can always be challenging but we have a good group of members who are always willing to help out.
Having said that, it’s so nice to have people who want to help us as we age. For example, I regularly receive text message reminders to pay my motorway tolls. I’m so grateful for this, as I can often be forgetful. I wish the government would do something to help me though, as I don’t have a car so paying for these tolls is quite tiresome!*
All jokes aside, if you are looking for somewhere to go to meet others as we age, you might consider the Forest Lake Probus Club. See our website for further information at https://forestlakeprobus.com.
