The Club’s June outing was a picnic at New Farm Park. What a fabulous spot for a picnic, with all facilities such as BBQ’s tables & chairs and some wonderful walks along the river and amongst the rose gardens.

On arrival at our picnic spot, the crew got to work setting up to serve our home-made morning tea. Hot tea and coffee were available to wash it all down.

A few of the members took advantage of the beautiful weather to walk over to the river and along to the rose gardens. Our resident musician, Bill, set up and started serenading everyone within earshot, including quite a few children who were there with their parents playing on the playground equipment.

While all this was happening, a few of the men started on the BBQ cooking our patties and onions, while the ladies prepared the salads and bread rolls. Lunch was enjoyed by everyone, who then sat back in the sun, sipping their favourite beverage! Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end – thank you to everyone who helped load our picnic stuff back onto the bus – your help is always very much appreciated. With everyone all on board our coach, we set off for home.

The Clubs ‘Extra Activity last month was a well-attended breakfast at Café 63 in Richlands.

The Forest Lake Fifty Plus Club wishes to acknowledge its ongoing support from the Heritage Community Branch, Forest Lake.

The Forest Lake Fifty Plus Club meets on the third Friday of the month at The Old Inala Hall, Cr Rosemary Street & Abelia Street, Inala at 10:30 am. The club’s next meeting will be on Friday July 19.
