The Lions Club of Inala would like to welcome the new Lions Club of Inala Executives for 2024/2025.
President: Bob Richards MID, CG
Secretary: Kylie Gates
Treasurer/Club Administrator: John Moynihan
1st Vice President: Lean Metzroth
2nd Vice President: Nayda Hernandez
Service Activities: Chair Les Josiah
Media/Marketing: Nayda Hernandez
Membership: John Moynihan JP (Qual) MICDA.
At the annual changeover dinner for 2024/2025, president Bob spoke about the impact the club is making in the community and how he is looking forward as the newly elected president to ensuring the club makes thanks to the community volunteers for all the work they have done in the past 12 months.
He also focused on why the work the Inala Lions are doing is so important and how in 2024 and 2025 we will be focusing more on raising funds in support of mental health space and helping our most vulnerable after hearing of another service person taking their life. Bob said there are unfortunately too many people taking their lives, especially residents that have served our country. In addition, Lions Kylie and Nayda spoke about the importance of making a positive change in the world. Kylie spoke about the cuts to DV funding, which is why it’s important that we all take steps to do what we can to help our neighbours.
This year, the club will be focusing also on bringing more attention to eye care for children. Lots of children are going undiagnosed with eye problems. So watch this space.
Anyone interested in donating to the club is welcome to email our secretary Kylie Gates at Inalalionsclubinc@gmail.com.
We thank past district governor Heather Short for speaking from the heart about how much our club does for the community and how we do so much for a small club. We couldn’t do it without the support of Forest Lake Heritage Bank, Blue Fin Fishing Club and The Lake News publications for their ongoing support. We thank Lion President Bob and Lion Bill for their strong leadership and all the wonderful work they do in addition to all the work they do with Paws for Hope and Understanding.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that attended the 50 year anniversary dinner, as well as Lion Bob, Lion Del, Lion Kyie Gates, Lion Kylie Doyle and Lion Nayda and all who worked tirelessly on the night and in the lead up to celebrate a wonderful milestone.
