The Forest Lake Markets are returning again, this time with a Christmas theme, this Friday December 9 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Forest Lake Sports Field at 60 College Avenue.

Market-goers can look forward to browsing through more than 50 market stalls, food trucks, face painting by Leanne’s Fancy Faces, music by bigdmusic2021, and a playground at the dog-friendly event.

The Wasps Forest Lake Junior Rugby Union Club vice president and market co-manager Veronica Stickley said the Christmas Markets were an opportunity for the community to shop local and support small businesses in the lead up to Christmas.

“The stall-holders are excited,” Veronica said.

“A lot of them are Forest Lake locals, and they’re really excited to have regular markets back in Forest Lake.”

Some of the stallholders at the event will include Aimee Soapery, Charming Handmades by Sandra, Sum Blokes BBQ Rubs & Spices, Ryan’s Rustic Creations, livin_it_lifestyle, Wendy1305AU, Bow Tie Pets, Sweet Soul Co., J T Allsorts, Evie’s sweets, Flowers by Flinny, plus a range of food trucks with seating area.

Forest Lake author Tiffany Price will be promoting her two books, Take Flight and Love’s True Colors, which can be purchased and signed by the author on the night.

There will also be an opportunity to win a Christmas hamper provided by Milton Dick MP, which can be entered for free at Tiffany’s stall.

Tiffany Price (T.E. Price) is a Forest Lake local blogger and a lifetime contracted author with Morgan James Publishing.

“We’ve had really good feedback from people coming to the markets,” Veronica said.

“We have a DJ playing, who will be playing Christmas tunes among his other repertoire.”

Activities for kids at the markets include a playground, dancing, and a Rugby ball-toss game provided by the Queensland Rugby Union.

“People can come and grab dinner and listen to music,” she said.

“Some families have been bringing picnic blankets and sitting down while their kids dance to the DJ.”

The Forest Lake Twilight Markets debuted on October 14 2022.

The event will take a break over January and return on the second Friday of every month starting in February 2023 at Forest Lake Sports Field at 60 College Avenue.
