Hello readers,

Our group loves to get away for a few days each year. Members who went on the Hunter Valley away trip had such a great time. Hunter Valley ticked all the boxes for our gardening enthusiasts on this trip too.

Photos taken on Hunter Valley trip as travellers enjoyed a cruise on the Foster/Tuncurry river, where we enjoyed great scenery, playful dolphins and delicious lunch.

Several outings have been planned for June and July. In June we are heading off to Esk to enjoy the Esk Bush Bashers.

An 4-night away trip up to Bundaberg, Maryborough and surrounds, which includes whale watching at Hervey Bay, is already fully booked and departing at the end of September.

Our guest speaker for our May meeting was Karen Furnivall from National Seniors. Karen presented badges and certificates to 11 of our 13 members who attended the meeting with 25 years or more continuous membership.

Karen also gave a talk on National Seniors to all attending bringing us up to date about National Seniors Australia and the many benefits of membership.

Why not join us at our monthly meetings and get to meet some lovely fun-loving members, while you check out our calendar of events for the coming months. The entry fee to our meetings is a modest $8 which includes morning tea.

Forest Lake National Seniors is very grateful for the support it receives from all our local Politicians and Forest Lake Heritage Bank.

As always we send our best wishes for a return to good health to any of our members who are unwell or recovering from surgery.

If you would like more information about our Branch and National Seniors, an Australia-wide not for profit, non political organization with really great member benefits, please contact Brian on 0407113126. Or You can go on the National Seniors Website for more detailed information, or speak to our membership officer at the reception desk. You are welcome to come for a couple of visits and then decide if you would like to become a member.

Meetings commence at 10 am for the months of February to November. Doors open at 9.30am. Look forward to seeing you there at the Forest Lake Hotel (entry opposite Red Rooster.)
