Rotary Club of Forest Lake

The Rotary Club of Forest Lake joined the local RSL Club to commemorate the ANZAC day remembrance service at the Lake Amphitheatre Memorial and provided a sausage sizzle for the veterans at the Forest Lake RSL Hall afterwards on April 25.

We are also looking forward to the Annual Multicultural Dragon Boat Festival at Forest Lake on Sunday June 2. Our BBQ Trailer Sausage Sizzle will be one of the many food stalls on site that day.

With the colder months being with us, the club’s community wool project has recently acquired a quantity of wool balls to supply the Forest Lake Crochet Group so they can knit some more of their beautiful rugs, beanies, twiddle mitts, and baby garments. We have recently donated a quantity of these to local care facilities.

And with the end of financial year upon us the club is to make its donations to the Rotary International Foundation which enables projects in communities around the globe, including the eradication of Polio, community water supplies, education and maternity support, to mention a few. It also allows peace scholars to be educated at the University of Queensland to be deployed around the world.
