On Sunday August 13 2023, four amazing children attended the Children of Courage Ceremony, a Lions Club of Forest Lake project.
The purpose of the Children of Courage Awards is to recognise a special group of young Australians and their families. There are many awards that recognise the achievements of young people, however children with ‘special needs’ are sometimes not catered for. St John’s Anglican College Leo’s have shown their compassion by holding this wonderful award ceremony annually.
The nominees have four categories which include: Special Needs, Courageous Act or Deed, Sibling Recognition and Inspiring Sporting Achievement.
Leo’s, who support this project, is a school-based program assisting students in local community tasks and learning from our community Lion’s Club of Forest Lake. Leo’s stands for Leadership, Experience and Opportunity. St John’s Anglican College supports the development of this wonderful Lions program. Kindness costs nothing and we love supporting our future.
This is an annual event run by St John’s Anglican College Leos. Leos would like to thank their sponsors who made the event a success. Our sponsors were the Honourable Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk, State Member for Inala, MP Federal Member for Oxley Milton Dick, Councilor Charles Strunk for Forest Lake Ward, Forest Lake Heritage Bank Manager Laura Keating, Stellarossa café, Royal Fadex hair and Forest Lake Mister Minit-Anthony and staff.
