When autumn came, she was a fallen leaf
Driven carelessly before the wind
Till trapped within a spiders web, her body neatly pinned
Powerless to move a muscle, paralysed by the spider’s sting
She couldn’t seem to cry for help, and so the spider sinned.

When winter came she was a snowflake
She told her soul to flee
She left behind a frozen heart, so the spider wouldn’t see
The snowflake became a raindrop, and splashed upon the ground
She slipped beneath the soil unseen, never whispering a sound.

In the springtime she became a daffodil
And danced beneath the sun
She swayed with the gentle breezes, giggled at so much fun
So at last her soul was cleansed, with fresh new hopes and dreams
The spider found an empty shell, his pocket pinched of schemes.

When darkness falls she is a firefly
Whispering her secret faerie name
She winds her way between the trees, a flickering faerie flame
The echo of her laughter can be heard amongst the leaves
Cascading down through the branches, along the path she weaves.

When the sun shines she is a butterfly
And she wiles away the hours
Tracing a mystic trail across the tops, pausing gently on the flowers
Although she cannot hear you, her soul knows how much you care
And as long as you have memories, your faerie will always be there.
