The Forest Lake Community Festival will arrive again at the lake this August 26 for a fun day out with the family.
For the past two years, residents of the Forest Lake community have come together at the lake to celebrate each other and the community at large, and the third year of the new tradition will be no different.
With every year getting bigger and better, 2023’s celebrations aim to surpass both previous festivals.
The festival will be held from 2-8pm on August 26 , and will include food trucks, more than fifty market stalls, and community group stalls, roving entertainers, community performances from local schools, dance groups and cultural groups, as well as dragon boats, an animal farm and rides until 8pm.
This year there will be the addition of showbags, and will once again feature the lasers and fireworks to finish off the night.
Forest Lake Community Festival coordinator Kylie Gates said that the festival’s priority is to strengthen the community of Forest Lake, and with sponsorship from Heritage Community Branch Forest Lake, such a goal can be accomplished.
“A great day with little expenditure required, that’s my main aim,” Kylie said.
“With the help of our major sponsor Heritage Community Branch Forest Lake and other local businesses we can provide a mostly free event for our community and surrounding areas.”
