Forest Lake’s Allstars Performing Arts dancers had a fantastic eisteddfod season this year, with routines taking home multiple awards against fierce competition.
At the Dance Life Unite eisteddfod held at St John’s Anglican College in July, students received one 1st placement, two 2nd placements, four 3rd placements, and one 4th placement, with several routines earning highly commended awards.
At the Brisbane Performing Arts Challenge held at St John’s Anglican College in June, 2nd place awards were given to Allstars’ Opens Tap team for Emergency and Allstars’ Opens Acrobatics team for Trip A Little Light Fantastic.
At the Quota Beenleigh eisteddfod held at the Logan Entertainment in August, dancers received 1st place for their Opens Hip-Hop routine, 2nd place in Open Jazz, and third place in 15s tap, with two highly commended awards.
Allstars Performing Arts eisteddfod teacher Georgia Eadie said it was an extremely successful and rewarding season.
“I am extremely proud of all of our Allstars performance team members, and how well they performed this competition season,” she said.
“Each student showed one hundred percent commitment and effort to their team and their routines.
“With some of our routines coming away with outstanding placements, the Allstars family should be so proud of their efforts.”
Sister-act duo Lily and Violet Sutton also competed together for the first time at the Ipswich Junior Eisteddfod Society Inc (IJESI) eisteddfod in July with great results.
“Both Lily and Violet performed beautifully on stage and received a placing of Very Highly Commended for their Jazz Duo,” Georgia said.
The Musical Theatre classes will also be performing the family-favourite Elf the Musical along with Allstar’s annual Christmas production at the end of the year, which the Forest Lake community is invited to attend.
