What a great start to 2024. We’ve had fun making dragons for Chinese New Year and planning the rest of the term. Our girls are keen to earn badges and participate in various activities being run to meet new Guides and catch up with old friends.
We are settling into our new home at the Forest Lake Community House on Alpine St. It’s fantastic being back in our own suburb! Did you celebrate the International Day of the Girl? Given the right inspiration and encouragement, girls can achieve anything.
The Australian Guide Program is made up of adventures, leadership opportunities, badges and the chance to give back to communities. Girls learn new skills and grow in confidence by challenging themselves.
Girls can choose activities, badges, certificates and awards to work towards and earn as part of the Girl Recognition System.
Our trained volunteer Girl Guide Leaders create space for girls to learn about themselves and their place in their community and the world.
Weekly Unit meetings, camps, adventure-based and community service activities make up the Girl Guiding experience.
Forest Lake Girl Guides meet on Friday nights at 6:40pm. Contact Lisa on 0412 767 708 or forest.lake.girl.guides@gmail.com for your free 4-week trial.
Volunteers Needed
Do you have a daughter, sister or friend who is aged 14-17? Do they love being around kids and would like to learn some leadership and life skills? We would love to hear from them!
We are looking for a young lady who is interested in becoming a junior leader. You don’t necessarily have to have Guiding experience but it would be super helpful.
We provide all guidance and training and pay for half of your membership fee. (Please note this is not a paid role – all guide leaders are volunteers).
