Durack Inala
Residents of Durack and surrounding areas are gearing up for the Biggest Morning Tea event to support the Queensland Cancer Council, set to take place on Tuesday May 21 at 10am at the Durack Inala Bowls Club.
Durack Inala Bowls Club volunteer and morning tea organiser Lorraine Eustace is passionate about the fundraiser which she has been running since 2013.
“It’s very close to my heart,” she said.
“I have had cancer, and I am a survivor, but I have lost a lot of family members from the disease.”
Since 2013, Lorraine and the club have raised over $30,000 for the charity and the community gets around the event every year.
“We currently have 100 tickets sold so we are nearing another sell-out,” she said.
“There are so many prizes that are donated for the day, and everyone gets a chance to win something through the raffles.”
Attendees can enjoy a morning tea for an entry fee of $15, alongside opportunities to participate in monster raffles with tickets priced at $1 each.
RSVP’s can be made at the Durack Inala Bowls Club or over the phone by calling 3372 1267.
