Our Christmas in July celebration at Spicers Retreat of Hidden Vale just outside of Grandchester was a resounding success with a beautiful lunch and outstanding rural views.Â
The month of August will see us heading off for a day in Toowoomba, taking in the Carnival of Flowers, visiting the prize winning gardens with a guide, having morning tea at the Cobb and Co museum followed by lunch at the Toowoomba Golf Club.
Plans have been completed for our travels to the Bellingen – Dorrigo region over a four day period leading into the final event for the branch being our Christmas lunch at the Blue Fin Fishing Club.
Last month we also celebrated the 11th birthday of the branch with a decadent cream cake and entertainment by Billy Guy who always gets us singing and dancing along with some great songs from the past.Â
At the beginning of September, our members will have a free spring-time breakfast in the park which promises to be well catered for and a fun event with some senior games and competitions.
Remember if you are over 50 with time on your hands and looking for new friendships, exciting activities and interesting trips, come along to one of our meetings held on the second Thursday of each month except December and January.Â
They are held at the Hotel Richlands, 132 Government Road, Richlands, entry at 9.30 am for a 10.00 am start. If you have any further questions contact me, Peter, on 0404829518.
