Locals can expect to see a plethora of stalls and attractions on the night, ranging from food trucks selling spuds, crepes, poffertjes and ice cream to face painting.

Allstars Performing Arts will be presenting an item from Elf the musical JR, as a teaser for the full production which they will perform later this year.

Market-goers will find the costumed Allstars performers roaming and handing out candy canes too.

Wasps Vice president and market co-manager Veronica Stickley said local stalls will be run for the benefit of the community. “A lot of the stalls are local or from close around the area, with a lot of handmade items from the community,” Veronica said.

Further entertainment will be provided by singer Jodie-Joy who will mix in Christmas songs to her set, with face painting by Leanne’s Fancy Faces, bubble art by Bubble’licious Creations and a playground for the kids.

Continuing the tradition of friendly competition and prizes, the community will have the opportunity to compete for the title of Ugliest Christmas Sweater, the winner taking home a prize of Christmas hamper donated by Councillor Charles Strunk, Veronica said.

A heated seating area and a dog-friendly policy makes the markets a night for the whole community.

The July 14 event will mark the ninth time the markets have been held since they began late last year.
