Five members of the team, Aaron Pulemagafa, Nathan Billing, Robert Crowton, Ron Keil and Nigel Kahupukoro, represented Queensland in the competition.

“I am very proud with our guys’ overall achievement, performance and ecstatic with their prized results. They have done our Club proud and are great Ambassadors for the sport of Dragon Boating and the Lakers Dragon Boat Club,” Club president Leroy Neilson said.

“Our members attended regular rep trainings with their respective Queensland State Teams, approximately four months prior to the event… Our guys competed extremely well and they all returned with a few medals each.”

Head Coach Pani Joe Martin was very proud indeed to have five members he coached within the club represent Queensland in Dragon Boating.

“They did Queensland and their Lakers Club proud.” He said.

“Our new season recommences from 1st July. From September and every month thereafter our regatta season begins,” he said.

“Our first for the new season is the Cooloola Regatta in Tin Can Bay on September 2nd & 3rd…’Till then, our squad will be back to basic regular weekend trainings preparing for it all.”
