If you know someone who is passionate about local news and looking for a way to become more active in their community, Local News Publications invites you to nominate them to become a volunteer Local News Ambassador.

The friendly team at LNP is looking for key individuals to help bring good news to light in Forest Lake. Residents are welcome to nominate themselves or someone else.

Local News Publications owner-manager Paul Jackson said ambassadors will comprise a small team of volunteer members who can help link journalists with sources for stories, provide the team with feedback and be a sounding board for ideas.

“We are wanting to make sure we don’t miss out on reporting any of the great things that are happening across the community, and the best way to do that is to have direct feedback from people who love the community they live in and give them the opportunity to share it,” Paul said.

“We hope that these community champions will multiply the eyes and ears we have on the ground.”

Logan West News journalist Megan Woolley, The Greater Springfield Times journalist Daniel Bouwmeester, and The Lake News journalist Jamie Furness.

Local News Publications is a small family business that aims to celebrate the good news that is happening across the community.

It started with The Lake News in Forest Lake in 1993 and introduced The Greater Springfield Times in 1997. Currently the youngest publication is Logan West News, which was started by Paul Jackson in 2018.

These three publications now go out to a combined audience of more than 120,000 residents every month.

Other benefits of becoming a Local News Ambassador include:

  • Contributing story ideas, photos, connections, introductions, quotes, etc.,
  • Meeting with the The Lake News journalists and other Local News Ambassadors to explore new ideas,
  • Early access to The Lake News content and opportunity to give direct feedback,
  • Exclusive offers and promotions.

“All our team are accessible and we publish their details so any resident can give us feedback any time, but we hope that our Local News Ambassadors will be able to provide us with regular and ongoing feedback that lets us hear and see more of what’s happening around the place,” Paul said.

The Local News Publications team prides themselves on celebrating the people, places and events that make Forest Lake a great place to live, work and play.

We would love to have a few of people from each of the following suburbs:

  1. Forest Lake
  2. Ellen Grove
  3. Doolandella
  4. Pallara
  5. Heathwood
