Our October speaker was the ever-popular and friend of our Club, City Councillor for Forest Lake Ward Charles Strunk. He elaborated what is actually planned and happening in Forest Lake. He was plied with a plethora of questions from Probians who were keen to bring a number of problems to his attention. As usual, he listened and gave a reply.
The activity for the month was a Sausage Sizzle but no ordinary one as there was a choice of different sausages. At Probus we do things in style! There was the usual first Thursday of the month lunch meeting, coffee morning and our very interesting and hearty discussion at our Book Club. We also welcomed six visitors.
The November speaker was Vicki Mynott from the Richlands/Inala History Group. Her brief talk included the showing of some slides about what the area of Forest Lake and surrounds looked like before land sales and developers moved in and of course everything changed.
Probians are looking forward to our trip to Samford Lifestyle Centre and Nursery as well as our Christmas lunch. As this Lake News publication will now arrive in December, the Probian Club of Forest Lake Inc. would like to extend Christmas and Seasonal holiday greetings to all who reside in our geographical area.
