Australian Olympian and Seasons Living ambassador, Brendon Smith, continues to build warm relationships with residents of the eight Seasons communities.

Seasons Living is a retirement village where people can age with independence, comfort, and grace to enhance the lives of senior Australians.

Senior’s month events were recently celebrated at Seasons Living with the attendance of Brendon Smith sparking up conversation with its residents, including sharing his most memorable moments in swimming.

“There’s no age limit on having fun in the pool and swimming is low impact exercise and immensely beneficial for good health and mobility,” he said.

“My Gran is in her eighties and swims every day, outdoors and in Melbourne.”

Brendon and Waterford West resident Robin Gallen OAM found they agreed wholeheartedly on learning to swim for safety with Robin explaining it was important to be able to swim as a young child because her family were regular holiday campers by a big river.

Seasons Living CEO Jodie Gaske explains their ‘Conversations’ interview initiative to align with Queensland Seniors Month theme of social connections.

“There is no denying the importance of feeling socially connected because when we are, we have a healthy sense of identity, feel a greater sense of belonging and have greater confidence in accessing resources,” Jodie said.

“In fact, having healthy social connections contributes to our overall health and wellbeing — we are proud to provide caring supportive communities that foster and support social connections through spaces, places, and activities, and will be celebrating what we do well this month.”

Brenden and the always vibrant Seasons communities, where luxury, self-contained apartments within resort-style surrounds offer residents an active social life with care available onsite, when it is needed, were excited to celebrate Queensland Seniors Month.
