The ladies from Pillowcases for Oncology Kids have had another successful year finishing off our last week with a morning tea and packing day. We all look forward to these days, as it gives us an opportunity to get together and enjoy each other’s company over a cup of tea and a bite to eat.
The Children’s Hospital has recently told us again how much the children like having their own special pillowcase for their bed. We try to get a variety of prints to suit different age groups.
The manager of East Coast Fabrics, where we purchase our fabric is very supportive and gives us a discount, which is great. We are generously supported by the Heritage Bank Forest Lake branch. It was lovely that Nima from the bank was able to come along and help with the packing, and for her to get to know us.
As the ladies left they took more fabric to sew over the next couple of months, as it will probably be around the end of February before we get together again.
