The Blue Fin Fishing Club in Inala is hosting its biggest morning tea yet this month to help raise funds for cancer patients.
On May 25, the Cancer Council will host its annual ‘Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea’ national day of fundraising, and the Blue Fin crew will be joining in from 9am.
It is a continued tradition for the bistro and bar venue, bringing together the residential and business community to make what they hope is their largest contribution yet.
The ticket price is $10, which goes directly to Cancer Council Queensland.
They also reached out to their business suppliers for donations of goods and services, which will be raffled off on the day.
“We are so grateful to have such a supportive community of people whom we work with,” Blue Fin Fishing Club marketing coordinator Donnelle Brooks said.
“So far we have had donations from over a dozen of our suppliers. Everyone from our fishing charters to our IT team have chipped in.”

The funds raised from the event will go towards services for people who are impacted by cancer to help make their lives easier as they seek treatment, as well as help educate and prevent skin cancer – a concern for every Queenslander.
“This is a cause very close to our hearts, as one of our own staff, Jeff Tutton, has been facing his own battle with cancer this year,” Donnelle explained.
“I think everyone knows at least one person in their life who has been personally affected by cancer.”
The Morning Tea is a great opportunity to get together and enjoy sweet and savoury snacks and a cuppa with friends, while supporting a worthy cause.
The Biggest Morning Tea will be held at 9am on Thursday, May 25, at the Blue Fin Fishing Club in Inala – 24 Lilac Street.
