Green thumbs and community champions are invited to help keep Forest Lake clean, tidy and rubbish-free by joining in the Forest Lake Community Clean Up event on February 18 from 8am until 11am.
The event will start at the Lake Parklands, and finish with a free BBQ at the lake to thank the volunteers.
Forest Lake Community Events Association president Kylie Gates is excited to be hosting the first of many “Clean Up Forest Lake” events.
“Forest Lake won the tidiest suburb in 2010 with the BCC Spotless Suburb Competition,” she said.
“It is no secret that after one of my huge events that I’m always there with my volunteers making sure that we leave the area free of rubbish.
“That is why I’m not going to wait for another event to get out there to clean up our backyard.”
This event will help beautify the community and benefit the environment, and will also be an opportunity to connect with one another while fostering a sense of pride for the area.
The free BBQ sausage sizzle will be provided by Matthew Groves at I Look Property Brisbane.
The following estates in Forest Lake require at least one group leader, and as many participants as possible to assist with the clean up.
- The Cascades
- Centennial Village
- Jubilee Crossing
- Lakeside Village
- Jetty Walk
- College Park
- Creekwood Estate
