Vietnamese Senior Citizens Association Qld

The Vietnamese Senior Citizens Association Qld began 2024 with a sense of community spirit and joy in the air.

In the spirit of Christmas, President Teresa Sa organised for the members to write cheerful Christmas messages on Christmas cards that would be delivered to the Forest Lake Lodge residents on Christmas Eve. She also made the day extra special by inviting her dear friend Steve Anderson, owner and CEO at Gold Medal Consulting and Coach of the 2018 Commonwealth Games gold medal- winning Canada beach volleyball team.

Steve spoke about his achievements locally, in Vanuatu and globally with all the Vietnamese Seniors who were delighted to have Commonwealth Games star writing Christmas cards with them. Christmas Eve was made extra special when they delivered all the handwritten Christmas cards and performed traditional Vietnamese dances to the residents at the Forest Lake lodge.

A local of Inala, Teresa is incredibly respected within the Vietnamese and Multicultural communities. Her big heart knows no bounds when it comes to serving her club members and broader community.

Teresa said that she was honoured to be continuing the meaningful work that her father started.

“It is my passion to serve my community,” she said.

“I watched and followed my dad’s footsteps as he was the president for over 14 years.”

The Vietnamese Senior Citizens Association meets every Saturday throughout the year. The Lake News readers can follow their journey on Facebook by following the Qld Vietnamese Senior Citizens Association page.
